"When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down your sleep will be sweet." Proverbs 3:24
"For He gives to His beloved sleep." Psalm 127:2

Sweet Sleep
His shoulder is my pillow
on which I lay my head.
Strong arms become my cradle
where I make my bed.
His bosom is my blanket
like His love; it keeps me warm.
I'll not fear for the night
safe in the care of the Lord.
The rhythm of His heartbeat
is my lullaby to sleep.
His tender eyes overlooking,
His beloved, He will keep.
A gentle kiss goodnight,
a hug from above.
I sleep sound and secure;
wrapped in His abundant love.

"...And  though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls." 1 Peter 1: 8,9
Dove"s Calling
I listened to the doves calling
and one who answered from afar.
They brought to my mind my Love;
He lives beyond the stars.
He coos a gentle love song
only the heart may hear.
Sweet are His precious night songs.
Deliverance will soon be here!

"And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your might." Deuteronomy 6:5

His Name Is...
I love Him and His name is Jesus.
He is more than this life to me.
For it was He who opened my blinded eyes.
He set this poor sinner free.
Yes! He's love and His name is Savior,
Because he first loved me.
He purchased me with His own life's blood;
On a hill called Calvary.
I love Him and His name is Master.
My life He now has for His own.
I will praise and always adore Him;
Even as He comes and carries me home.

Each Day

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.
Psalm 32:8

I am trusting in You to show me the way,
How You want me to live day by day.
You know the world I live in and what
I must face.
People without Your love make
this planet an empty place.
You're in me always, so comforting inside;
Whispering, "You are My child, you will survive."
Thank You for Your grace which flows to me
through it all,
My heart is waiting to hear Your call.
Whatever task You would have me to do,
You know that my joy is living for You!

"Open your mouth wide and I will fill it." Psalm 81:10
"...Who satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles."
 Psalm 103:5

When I meet Thee
     at the beginning of day,
When the shadows of night fade away;
      as the sun awakes to greet the hills
I look toward heaven for my heart to be filled.
And on a day when the sun
     does not shine,
I call to my remembrance all Your
     "giving times."
Believing in my heart, all
      Your words to be true
I still look towards heaven.
I am waiting for You.

As Shepherds Watched

"Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night." Luke 2:8

"Glory to God in the Highest."
The shepherds heard the glorious sound.
They knew something special happened;
As they bowed their heads to the ground.

They heard the angels singing.
"Peace on earth, goodwill to all men".
They waited patiently for direction,
The angel sent them to Bethlehem.

"Find the Baby in a manger,
The city of David is the place;
Take your sheep and do not tarry,
Go and look upon His face".

The shepherds wondered, "How do we go?"
The angel pointed to a shining star.
"Follow this to where He lay.
You must leave now, your journey's far."

At last they found the stable.
The Baby was sleeping peacefully.
As they gazed into the manger;
They saw the One whose name is Holy.

The shepherds were filled with joy!
They found the Christ, the only One;
Of whom the angels testified,
Was God's alone, His Only Son.

They didn't wait to tell the good news;
The glory of God was among us.
The Baby asleep in the manger that night;
Is our Savior, His name is Jesus.

The Gift

To you who believe, He is precious." 1 Peter 2:7

Christmas is a time of
       family celebration.
Joined hearts in thanksgiving
       filled with jubilation.
Christmas is a time for singing
       merry songs of cheer;
Of reminiscing through another
       passing year.
It is a time to remember
       a Divine Baby Boy
A King who came to earth
       to suffer for our joy.
A sinless Child  destined
       to become a Man;
A Savior born to fulfill
       God's salvation plan.
The Spirit of God is present
       blessing hearts everywhere.
Still, some refuse to embrace
       God's loving care.
Festive plans, holiday sales,
       of such people tell;
Scarcely a thought of Jesus,
       the Lord, Emmanuel.
When all the clamour around you
       beckons to be heard;
Remember God's Gift to you,
       Jesus, His Living Word.
